FIND YOUR PERFECT FAJA FIT

Colombian fajas are designed differently from traditional shapewear and everyday clothing. The right fit depends on your current measurements, body proportions, garment construction and level of compression.

For most Colombian fajas and shapewear, your waist and hip measurements are the most important measurements when selecting your size.

BEFORE CHOOSING YOUR SIZE

For the most accurate fit, take fresh measurements before ordering.

Waist
Measure around the smallest part of your natural waist, usually around or slightly above your belly button.

Hips
Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks, keeping the measuring tape level around your body.

Always use your current measurements rather than automatically selecting your regular clothing size.

GENERAL SIZE REFERENCE

Use the chart below as a general reference for classic Colombian fajas and shapewear.

Important: This is a general sizing reference. Sizing can vary by brand and garment.

SIZING MAY VARY BY BRAND & STYLE

Romance Boutique Secrets carries Colombian fajas and shapewear from different brands and in different styles. Sizing may vary depending on the brand, fabric, garment construction, compression level and design.

Always check the sizing information provided on the individual product page when available.

If your waist and hips correspond to different sizes, do not automatically size down for stronger compression. The best size will depend on the specific garment and your proportions.

Have a smaller waist with fuller hips?

Our Reloj de Arena™ Semi-Custom Fajas allow you to select one size for your waist and a different size for your hips, creating a more customized hourglass fit.

HOW SHOULD A COLOMBIAN FAJA FIT?

A properly fitted Colombian faja should feel firm, supportive and compressive without preventing you from breathing or moving comfortably.

Your faja should:

• Feel snug and supportive around your waist
• Sit smoothly against your body
• Provide compression without excessive pain or numbness
• Allow you to stand, sit and move comfortably
• Stay securely in place without excessive rolling or shifting

A new high-compression faja may feel very snug at first, but smaller does not necessarily mean better compression or better results.

Never intentionally choose a smaller size simply to achieve stronger compression.

WAIST & HIP PROPORTIONS MATTER

Two customers with the same waist measurement can have very different hip measurements.

This is why your body proportions matter just as much as the number on the size tag when choosing full-body shapewear.

If you have a significant difference between your waist and hip measurements, a traditional single-size faja may not provide your ideal fit.

Our team can help you determine whether a traditional Colombian faja or a Reloj de Arena™ semi-custom style may work better for your proportions.

CLASSIC FAJAS VS. POST-OP FAJAS

This guide is intended primarily for classic Colombian fajas and everyday shapewear.

If you are shopping for a garment following a cosmetic or surgical procedure, please use our dedicated Post-Op Faja Guide.

Post-op sizing can be affected by swelling, recovery stage and changing body measurements and should not be selected using everyday shapewear sizing alone.
