Post-Op Faja Size Guide | Stage 1, 2 & 3 | Romance Boutique Secrets
FIND THE RIGHT FIT FOR EVERY STAGE OF RECOVERY
Your body can change significantly throughout the post-operative recovery process. Swelling, inflammation and changing measurements can all affect the way your compression garment fits.
For this reason, the faja that fits you immediately after surgery may not be the same size—or the same stage—you wear later in your recovery.
At Romance Boutique Secrets, we recommend choosing your post-op faja according to your current measurements, level of swelling, recovery stage and your healthcare provider’s recommendations.
Important: Post-op garments should never be selected based solely on your regular clothing size or pre-surgery measurements.
BEFORE CHOOSING YOUR POST-OP FAJA
For the most accurate fit, take fresh measurements each time you are ready to purchase or transition into a new garment.
Your most important measurements are typically:
Natural Waist
Measure around the smallest part of your waist, usually around or slightly above your belly button. Keep your stomach relaxed and do not pull the measuring tape too tightly.
Full Hips
Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks, keeping the measuring tape level around your body.
Depending on the garment, additional measurements such as your bust, underbust, high hip or torso may also be helpful.

UNDERSTANDING POST-OP FAJA STAGES
The different stages of post-op compression are designed for different points in recovery.
Your timeline may be different from someone else’s. Always follow the instructions provided by your surgeon or qualified healthcare provider.
STAGE 1 — EARLY RECOVERY
Stage 1 garments are generally intended for the earlier portion of recovery when swelling and inflammation may be at their highest.
These garments typically prioritize comfortable, supportive compression and ease of wear while your body is still changing.
Because swelling can fluctuate during this period, do not intentionally size down to create additional compression.
Your garment should feel supportive without causing excessive pressure or discomfort.
STAGE 2 — MORE STRUCTURED COMPRESSION
As swelling begins to decrease and your measurements change, you may be ready for a more structured post-op garment.
Stage 2 fajas generally provide firmer compression and more shaping than garments designed for the earliest stage of recovery.
This is also when many customers discover that their original post-op size no longer fits the same way.
Measure yourself again before purchasing your Stage 2 faja.
Do not assume you will wear the same size you wore during Stage 1.
STAGE 3 — ADVANCED COMPRESSION & SHAPING
Stage 3 fajas are generally designed for customers who are further along in recovery and have been cleared for stronger compression.
These garments may offer:
• Firmer compression
• More structured waist definition
• Enhanced shaping and contouring
• Additional support as swelling continues to decrease
Stage 3 should not automatically be selected simply because you want stronger compression.
Your body should be ready for the garment, and your healthcare provider’s recommendations should always take priority.
YOUR SIZE MAY CHANGE DURING RECOVERY
This is one of the most important things to understand about post-op sizing.
Your first faja size is not necessarily your final faja size.
As inflammation and swelling decrease, your measurements may change considerably.
That means you may transition through different sizes as well as different stages during your recovery.
Always use your current measurements when purchasing a new post-op garment.
POST-OP SMART FIT SIZING
Unlike classic Colombian shapewear, post-op sizing can be affected by more than your waist measurement alone.
We consider:
Your current waist measurement
Your current hip measurement
Your level of swelling/inflammation
Your stage of recovery
The construction and compression of the specific garment
Because post-op bodies and procedures vary, there is no single size chart that can accurately determine the perfect fit for every customer.
Individual product sizing and your current measurements should always be considered when selecting your garment.
IMPORTANT FIT RULE
More compression does not mean you should choose a smaller size.
A properly fitted post-op faja should provide the appropriate level of support without creating excessive pressure, restricting normal breathing or causing significant discomfort.
If your garment feels excessively tight, painful, causes numbness, unusual swelling, skin changes or other concerning symptoms, discontinue use and contact your healthcare provider.
WHEN SHOULD I MOVE TO THE NEXT STAGE?
There is no universal timeline that applies to every person.
Your procedure, healing process, swelling and your surgeon’s protocol can all affect when—or whether—you should transition into another stage.
Always follow the recommendations of your surgeon or qualified healthcare provider regarding when to change compression garments or compression levels.
